Charles University is decentralised, with its facilities located across various sites in Prague and other cities. The Faculty of Social Sciences, of which our Institute of International Studies is a part, is spread across three different locations in Prague. Below, you will find a list of key locations and contact persons for Master in Area Studies students.

You can find lecture halls, seminar rooms, and offices at U Kříže 8, Prague 5 – Jinonice. 

The closest metro station is Jinonice (yellow line B), and the nearest bus stop is Jinonice (buses No. 137 and 149).

MAS Programme Coordinator

Your programme coordinator is your primary contact person and is always here to support you throughout your studies. Whether you need general guidance, have questions about academic administration, or want to discuss the day-to-day running of your programme, the coordinator should always be your very first point of contact.

MAS Programme Director 

Your Programme Director provides guidance on the academic direction of your studies, offering advice on the curriculum, student mobility, thesis requirements, and final state examinations, among other matters.

The office hours of academic staff change each semester depending on their teaching timetables. You can always find their current office hours for the given semester in the SIS.

Administrative Officer for English Language Programmes

The Administrative Officer supports both students and academic staff by managing day-to-day administration, academic timetabling, room bookings, exam arrangements, and other related tasks. They also coordinate Final State Examinations.

International Office / International Degree Programmes Office

The International Office handles all central administrative procedures at the faculty level. You should turn to this office for official matters such as study enrolment, recognition of prior education, issuance of study confirmations, financial procedures, and study interruptions, among other matters.
