Associate Professor Adrian Brisku took part in the Launch Event of the Centre of Excellence in Nationalism Research (NARS)

Associate Professor Adrian Brisku, director of the Small nation(-states) Research Center, attended the official Launch Event of the Center of Excellence for Nationalism Research (NARS) in Helsinki on the last Friday in May.

The center, led by the Finnish Literature Society (SKS), will operate from 2026 to 2033 and will focus on researching nationalism as a complex human phenomenon whose content, meanings, and intensity change over time. NARS’s research will emphasize the interconnection of historical research with the study of cultural memory, focusing in particular on examining the long-term processes and layers of national consciousness as lived and preserved experiences.
