Associate Professor Slavomír Horák spoke at a symposium in Bangkok

Associate Professor Slavomír Horák spoke at the April symposium Thailand and Central Asia: Forging Sustainable Connectivity and New Partnerships in a Dynamic Eurasia, presenting his paper Central Asian Studies Marching Beyond Its Traditional Centers, which focused on the development of Central Asian studies.

The symposium was organized by Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University, one of Thailand’s largest universities, to mark the opening of its new Center for Central Asian Studies. The conference was attended by researchers and diplomats from Central Asia, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. Only two participants were present from Europe.
