Associate Professors Handl and Eberle have contributed a chapter to the new book "The 2025 German Federal Election"

In early August, Palgrave Macmillan Cham published The 2025 German Federal Election: A Polity Under Stress, an in-depth analysis of the 2025 German federal election. Specifically, it examines the international context of the election, domestic issues, competition between political parties and the behaviour of German voters. It also offers an assessment of the process of forming a government, its stability and its legislative agenda.

Lecturers from the Department of German and Austrian Studies, Vladimír Handl and Jakub Eberle, contributed a chapter entitled Germany’s Relations with Russia and Ukraine, which focuses on Germany’s relations with Russia and Ukraine and their development in the context of the ‘Traffic Light’ coalition. It also examines the disputes in the run-up to the elections, in which the issue of these relations played a significant role.
