Doktor Luboš Velek obdržel rakouské státní vyznamenání

On January 21, Dr. Luboš Velek received the Austrian state award Das Goldene Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republik Österreich, which is awarded by the President of the Republic of Austria.

The award recognized Luboš Velek's long-standing work in the Permanent Conference of Czech and Austrian Historians on Common Cultural Heritage, which acts as an advisory body to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and Austria. His merits in the field of research into the common history of both countries and his personal contribution to building and maintaining good relations between the two states did not go unnoticed either. The publication of the historical book Neighbours: Czech-Austrian History, which was written by members of the SKČRH, including Luboš Velek, also contributed significantly to this.
