Klára Kosová has defended her dissertation at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen

We would like to congratulate Klára Kosová, who successfully defended her dissertation Governance legitimacy in the oligarchized settings: the case of Bulgaria at the University of Groningen on Thursday February 19, which also counts as her defense at the Faculty of Social Sciences. 

The thesis, supervised by Prof. Pablo Valdivia Martin, Dr. Lisa Gaufman, and Doc. Adrian Brisku, examines how political legitimacy is constructed in contemporary democracies and analyzes the state of the Bulgarian socio-political situation during the protests in 2020 and 2021.

Klára Kosová is also the first non-Dutch student in the history of the faculty (Faculteit der Letteren) to defend her thesis cum laude.
