Klára Kosová received Martina Roeselová's grant supporting young female scientists who are mothers
Klára Kosová, a doctoral student at the Department of Russian and East European Studies, has received the Martina Roeselová Memorial Grant, which focuses on supporting young female scientists who are mothers and helps them balance their parental responsibilities with their academic careers. In her research, Klára Kosová combines the humanities and social sciences with computational sciences and focuses on cognitive linguistics, political discourse analysis, and the issue of legitimacy crises in contemporary democracies.
Until 2016, the grant awarded by the IOCB Tech endowment fund was aimed exclusively at scientists working in the natural sciences, but this year, for the first time, academics from the humanities and social sciences were also eligible for scholarships. Thanks to the scholarship, they can afford childcare services and thus devote more time to their research, or travel with their child to an international conference or internship abroad.
Congratulations!
