As part of the KIU project, Dr. Ondřej Klípa is spending time in Frankfurt an der Oder
Dr. Ondřej Klípa from the Department of Russian and East European Studies is serving as a research fellow at Viadrina University in Frankfurt (Oder) from mid-April to mid-July as part of the KIU project.
His research project, “Imperial Multiculturalism in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (1992–2013): Russian Hegemony, Soviet Legacy, and Western Minority Protection examines so-called imperial multiculturalism in Crimea prior to 2013 and how political actors used it to legitimize political dominance and marginalize the claims of the Crimean Tatars.
KIU is a four-year project funded by the DAAD, aimed at strengthening research, teaching, and networking in the field of Ukrainian studies.
