Charles University celebrates 676th birthday and presents awards
On Tuesday, 9 April, a festive meeting commemorating the 676th anniversary of the founding of Charles University took place in the Great Hall of the historic Carolinum building. On this occasion, the Miloslav Petrusek Prize for Presentation and Promotion and the Bedřich Hrozný Prize for Creative Achievement were awarded.

Michal Smetana from the Department of North American Studies published an article in the interdisciplinary and international peer reviewed bimonthly journal "Journal of Peace Research" of scholarly work in peace research. Congratulations!

SIMS
SIMS is an informal association of the IIS students. Its task is to solve students' problems, so as to bridge the imaginary gap between them and the instructors. Another activity of the SIMS is to organize traditional social and educational events for (not only) the IIS students. These events include, for example, the Welcome Party, the Christmas Party, the year competitions, the Karaoke Party, the IIS Steamboat, competitions with the Institute of Sociological Studies (ISS), lectures on current topics or an Orientation Week for the first years of the Bachelor's degree studies.

PRAREAS
PRAREAS (Prague Area Studies) is a platform at the Institute of International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, which brings together four English-language study programs: BECES, CECS, EPS, LAG. In collaboration with the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES), IMS also offers a double-degree program taught in English.
