Foreign information influence, countermeasures against it and its communication: findings and analysis of Czech public opinion
Foreign information influence, countermeasures against it and its communication: findings and analysis of Czech public opinion
The project aims to map the public’s attitudes towards foreign information influence, including its perceived (il-)legitimacy, the legitimacy of possible countermeasures against such influence, and the impact of communication of the existence of foreign information influence on the public’s attitude and trust in democratic processes and public service. Effective countering of foreign information influence depends on the acquiescence and participation of the public, which plays a vital role in democracy both as a source of legitimacy for countermeasures and as an active actor in limiting the impacts of such influence. Therefore, understanding public discourse on the subject is a precondition for formulating appropriate strategic communication and taking political measures.
