The legacy of the Kosovo war in collective memory: Serbian victimhood discourses in digital spaces
The GAUK project, titled “The legacy of the Kosovo war in collective memory: Serbian victimhood discourses in digital spaces,” analyses Serbian victimhood discourses on the legacy and aftermath of the Kosovo War. The main objective of the project is to examine and understand how non-state actors and their engagement with Serbian victimhood discourse shape the collective memory of the Kosovo War digitally. In line with this objective, two articles are produced and published that compare perspectives by Serbian and Western non-state actors in news media and social platforms, such as YouTube and Instagram. In doing so, this project aims to support recent scholarship studying Serbian victimhood in the post-Yugoslav space and its implications for regional political and societal developments.
