30 years of cooperation between KNRS IMS FSV UK and Universität Düsseldorf

The Department of German Studies at the IMS FSV UK has been cooperating with Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf for 30 years.

This cooperation, originally initiated through a personal friendship between historians Jan Kren and Detlef Brandes, enables students and academics from both institutions to exchange studies and research. The program, supported by the German Academic Exchange Service, allows Czech students and academics access to German resources and provides German students with deeper insight into Czech historical debates.

The cooperation broadens the horizons of students and academics through seminars, excursions and an interdisciplinary approach to German and Czech studies, encompassing not only history but also political science, cultural studies and economics.

In an interview with Till JanzerAnke Hillbrenner and Zuzana Lizcová explain how this exchange enriches scientific development, broadens knowledge and shapes the life paths of the participants
