Elections to the FSV UK Academic Senate and UK Academic Senate
At its meeting on 8 October 2024, the FSV UK Academic Senate announced elections to the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University for the term of office 2025–2027. It also announced the date of elections to the Academic Senate of Charles University for the term of office 2025-2028. Both elections will take place electronically from November 26 to November 28, 2024. -
Dr Ingrid Anderson, Fulbright Scholar
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ingrid Anderson, a Fulbright Scholar from Boston University, who will be visiting the Faculty of Arts and the Herzl Center of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University. -
Author's Workshop - Becoming Smaller: Responses to Changes in Size and Influence since the mid-Twentieth Century
The Small (Nation-)States Research Center in cooperation with The Center for International Studies and Development will be having a two-day author's workshop on October 17 and 18, 2024 at the Jagiellonian University (Krakow) in preparation for a forthcoming edited volume, titled Becoming Smaller: Responses to Changes in Size and Influence since the mid-Twentieth Century.

SIMS
SIMS is an informal association of the IMS students. Its task is to solve students' problems, so as to bridge the imaginary gap between them and the instructors. Another activity of the SIMS is to organize traditional social and educational events for (not only) the IMS students. These events include, for example Welcome Party, Christmas Part, Karaoke Party, lectures on current topics or an Orientation Week for the first years of the Bachelor's degree studies.

Alumni
The Institute values its graduates and likes to meet them at the traditional reunion in Grébovka. This year's reunion took place on 28 May 2024 in the restaurant Pavilion Grébovka in Havlíčkovy sady. At the meeting we celebrated together the significant 30th anniversary of our institute. The graduates were welcomed by the director of the institute, doc. Tomáš Nigrin. The event was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský.
