Area Studies Preparatory Course

COURSE: AREA STUDIES

Course: International Area Studies - Specialization in Area Studies

Objective of the course: The course is intended to revise and practice the knowledge required for the admission procedures for various study fields of the International Area Studies programme and it may also be beneficial to prepare for the admission procedure for other study programmes at faculties of humanities and social sciences. The main focus will be on post-war history and the current problems of the European Union member countries, the countries of the former Soviet Union and on the United States of America. European integration and security issues are also being addressed.

Each lecture will be introduced by a short, jointly corrected test which the participants will be able to keep. It will be accompanied by a brief bibliography to the topic.
