Memorandum of Understanding between IMS and the Institute for Contemporary History
Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of International Studies at the Charles University and the Institute for Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences
On 3 January, representatives of the Institute of International Studies and the Institute for Contemporary History agreed on closer cooperation between the two institutions in doctoral studies. From the new academic year, Ph.D. students in Modern History will be able to apply for one-year research internships at the Institute for Contemporary History. It will enable them to participate in research at this leading Czech academic institution. The staff of the Institute will also be involved in the training of doctoral students and in teaching in the framework of postgraduate studies.
The Memorandum is a continuation of the 1996 agreement concluded by the then directors of both institutions, prof. Křen and prof. Prečan, under which a joint workplace of IMS and ÚSD has existed for almost a quarter of a century.
