Workshop: Foreign Interference – What Did We Learn from the Sanctions on Russia?

Workshop: Foreign Interference – What Did We Learn from the Sanctions on Russia?
You are warmly invited to a research workshop with Gian Pili, taking place on Wednesday, 11 June 2025 at 14:00 in Room C423, Jinonice Campus, Charles University.
Russia’s interference in Central European affairs is unlikely to cease even after the war in Ukraine ends. Western sanctions are expected to remain in place for the foreseeable future, yet Russia has been developing increasingly sophisticated methods to evade them. How can we detect and respond to these evasive strategies? What tools are available?
The aim of the workshop is to bring together experts from various sectors—ministries, think tanks, and research institutions—to engage in a collaborative discussion on how to counter foreign interference. A particular focus will be placed on the use of open-source intelligence (OSINT) and on sharing practical challenges in tracking sanctions evasion.
The workshop is designed as an open and interactive format. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences and ideas.
