Postdoctoral Position in Science Diplomacy and Research Security (Horizon Europe Projects)
The Institute of International Studies is offering a postdoctoral position in the field of science diplomacy, research security, and open strategic autonomy as part of two Horizon Europe projects. Specifically, the work will involve: taxonomy, mapping, and analysis of the European science diplomacy ecosystem; and an international comparative case study on the innovation and research aspects of open strategic autonomy. -

Junior Fund Call for Proposals: Project “Gender-Based Violence in Europe During Periods of War and Transformation (19th–20th Centuries): A Transnational Perspective”
The aim of the Junior (Post-doc) Fund is to attract promising international postdoctoral researchers who will conduct research in a specific field at Charles University. On behalf of the IMS, the Department of German and Austrian Studies is offering a position within the project Gender-Based Violence in Europe in Times of War and Transition (19th–20th Century): A Transnational Perspective, which will focus on gender-based violence in Europe from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, with particular attention to periods of war, state collapse, and postwar transformation.

SIMS
SIMS is an informal association of the IMS students. Its task is to solve students' problems, so as to bridge the imaginary gap between them and the instructors. Another activity of the SIMS is to organize traditional social and educational events for (not only) the IMS students. These events include, for example Welcome Party, Christmas Part, Karaoke Party, lectures on current topics or an Orientation Week for the first years of the Bachelor's degree studies.

Alumni
The Institute values its graduates and likes to meet them at the traditional reunion in Grébovka. This year's reunion took place on 28 May 2024 in the restaurant Pavilion Grébovka in Havlíčkovy sady. At the meeting we celebrated together the significant 30th anniversary of our institute. The graduates were welcomed by the director of the institute, doc. Tomáš Nigrin. The event was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský.
