Invitation - movie screening "Gestures of Resistance" and a discussion

We would like to cordially invite you to a movie screening "Gestures of Resistance" and a discussion.

The event will take place on Tuesday - April 25 at 18:00 in room S10 (MALACH Center for Visual History - Malostranské náměstí 2/25, 118 00 Malá Strana).

The screening and discussion will be attended by the filmmaker Olga Stefan herself. Our invitation was also accepted by the coordinators of the MALACH Center for Visual History and members of our Department of Russian and East European Studies - Dr. Karin Roginer Hofmeister and Dr. Jiří Kocián.

"Gestures of resistance" is a documentary movie that brings together the personal testimonies of anti-fascist resistance of some of the last survivors of the Holocaust in Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The movie presents both archival images of protest movements and individual acts of solidarity, as well as testimonies of the protagonists, archival materials and works of anti-fascist art, with the aim of advocating for a path to shape our present and future so that equality and justice for all are the core values ​​of our society.

The event is organised with the support of the Claims Conference and MALACH Center for Visual History.
