New GAČR project at IMS grounds
Congratulations to doc. Tomáš Nigrin for the new project! Doc. Nigrin has been working on a new project called Connected by Arms: Central European Armaments, 1954-1994, since January. The project compares production and distribution strategies in Austria and Czechoslovakia and maps the network of actors and the interconnected infrastructure.

Discussion: "Georgia’s EU Path after the EU Council Decision"
This November the EU Commission recommended to the EU Council granting Georgia the candidate country status. Our Small Nation(-States) Research Centre has invited two Georgian experts to discuss this decision on 21 December at 14:15.

Golden Courses for the best courses of the Summer Semester 2022/23
Golden Courses for the best courses of the Summer Semester 2022/2023 according to the student evaluation were awarded. Congratulations to all recipients! On Tuesday, 3 October 2023, during the Academic Senate FSV UK meeting, the Golden Courses were awarded to the lecturers.

Successful public defence of dissertation thesis and state doctoral examinations
On Friday, 23 June 2023, a successful public defence of dissertation written by Barbora Menclová took place. On Thursday 22 June and Friday 23 June, Klára Kosová and Ediz Hazir successfully passed the state doctoral examination. Congratulations to all of them!

Opening of new IMS Research Centres
We are pleased to announce that as of 1 May 2023, we have opened two new research centres at our institute - the Center for Peace and Conflict Research and the Centre for the Integration of Digital Humanities (C4DHI).
