Post(Wars) Research Center Hosts ERC "Leviathan" Team for Collaborative Workshop
On June 25, 2025, the Post(Wars) Research Center at the Institute of International Studies hosted a joint workshop with the team of the ERC-funded project Leviathan, based at the Institute for the History of Medicine at Charité Berlin. The project looks at how medicine and social policy helped shape postwar European societies and new forms of governance after 1945.
The workshop brought together members of the Leviathan team and PhD students from the Modern History program to share research and ideas related to war and postwar societies, and to discuss the role of state and welfare institutions. The meeting offered a great opportunity to explore future cooperation between IMS and the Charité-based team, especially in connecting doctoral researchers and developing shared themes in historical research.
