Department of German and Austrian Studies - People
In teaching and research, the Department of German and Austrian Studies focuses on German-speaking countries and Central Europe. It is dedicated to the development of foreign policy and international relations. Furthermore, within its territory, it monitors changes in political, societal, and cultural circumstances from 1989 to the present day. The department also specialises in comparative history of Central Europe, with an emphasis on the Czech lands in the 20th century. It approaches the entire region from the perspectives of various disciplines, from political science, economics, and law to cultural and historical studies.
