Master in Area Studies (MAS) is an interdisciplinary two-year master’s degree programme focusing on the modern history and current affairs in Europe, Eurasia, and North America. The MAS programme provides a detailed and systematic understanding of the area’s current challenges. The main aim of MAS is to educate area studies specialists to be able to adapt easily to a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
The programme equips students with tools for social science analysis. Students have the opportunity to compile their own curriculum that reflects their personal interests and future career plans. They may either build an individualised thematic and territorial profile or choose one of the following study tracks:

Certificate in Digital Humanities
Students enrolled in the MAS programme have the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Digital Humanities alongside their degree. This certificate comprises four specialised courses and provides students with essential data literacy and digital competencies that are increasingly valued across disciplines in both academic research and professional practice.
